To Bee or not to Bee, Seinfeld says they're funny
October 1, 2007
Jerry Seinfeld is being a honey to a favourite TV show and helping to promote Bee Movie at the same time with an upcoming broadcast appearance.
He’s in the Oct. 4 season-opener of 30 Rock starring
Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. His appearance will help the show, which has
been struggling in the ratings, but it’s also part of the aggressive
multimedia advertising campaign for Bee Movie, Seinfeld’s animated feature debut.
It
began with a series of comic shorts Seinfeld made to promote the movie,
two of which were "accidentally" shown to Toronto press yesterday.
"We did a whole promotional thing with NBC," Seinfeld said in an interview.
"NBC
is going to rebrand themselves as N-BEE-C in the weeks leading up to
the movie, and so they asked as part of this whole deal (to make the
shorts). They’re called TV Juniors. So they’re going to sprinkle those
into the NBC prime-time schedule.
"So they asked me if there’s any show I’d like to be on. And I said, `30 Rock.’
Because I just like the setting for that show, you know? I love the
television business ??“ obviously, I know it well. And I know Tina and
I’m a huge fan of Alec Baldwin."
